ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Currency band

Currency band is when a country decides how much one of its currency is worth compared to another currency. For example, the United States has a currency called the US dollar. If a country like Japan also uses the US dollar then the governments of both countries have agreed on how valuable one US dollar is compared to a Japanese yen. This agreed-upon value is called a currency band.
