Current collector

Okay, let's imagine we have a toy train track. The train needs power to move along the track, right? So, how does it get that power? Well, we can use a special part called a current collector.

A current collector is like a little helper that the train uses to get electricity from the track. It's basically a small metal arm that touches the metal rails on the track, kind of like when you put your finger on a light switch to turn on the light. When the arm touches the rail, it completes an electrical circuit that sends power to the train.

But why do we need a current collector? Why can't the train just get the power from the batteries inside it? Well, the batteries can only provide a limited amount of power, and they will eventually run out. With a current collector, the train can keep getting power as long as it's on the track. Plus, it can move much faster with the added power from the track.

So, in short, a current collector helps a train (or any electric vehicle) get power from the track to keep moving.
