ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

DIY research

DIY research means doing research on your own without help from someone else. Just like when you do a craft project or build something with your own hands, you can also do research by yourself.

First, you need to decide what you want to learn about. Let's say you want to learn about cats. You start by asking yourself questions like:

- What do cats eat?
- How long do they live?
- What kinds of cats are there?

Next, you need to find information to answer these questions. You can do this by looking things up on the computer or in a book. You can ask other people who know about cats, like your parents or friends.

When you have all the information you need, you can organize it into different categories. For example, you can make a list of different cat breeds or create a chart that shows what cats eat. This makes it easier to understand and remember what you learned.

Finally, you can share your research with other people. You can tell your friends what you learned about cats, or you can make a poster or presentation to show to your class. This helps other people learn too, and it's really cool to share what you found out!

Doing DIY research is a great way to learn new things and become more knowledgeable about the world around you.
