DNA damage theory of aging

The DNA Damage Theory of Aging is basically a theory that explains why we grow old and what happens to our bodies while we age. It explains that over time, the DNA inside our cells gets damaged by things like sunlight, toxins, and other factors in the environment. This damage happens all the time, but normally our bodies can fix it quickly. As we get older, though, our bodies aren't able to repair the DNA damage as well, so it builds up and accumulates. This build-up of DNA damage causes cells to lose their ability to function and is what causes us to age.
