DNS over HTTPS

DNS over HTTPS (DoH) is a way of sending information over the internet that helps keep your online activities private. When you use the internet, your computer has to look up the website you want to visit by sending a request to a DNS server. DNS stands for Domain Name System, which is what converts the website address (like google.com) into the address that computers can use to access the website (called an IP address). These requests can sometimes be seen by other people using the internet.

DoH helps by making sure these requests are sent over an encrypted “tunnel” so that no one else can see them. This tunnel is made using a special protocol called HTTPS, which stands for “HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure”. It's like a secure tunnel that your request can take so that other people on the internet can't see it.
