DTED

DTED stands for Digital Terrain Elevation Data. It is a type of map that shows how high or low the land is in different areas. To make a DTED map, people use special machines to measure the elevation of the ground. They take a lot of measurements to be very accurate. Then, they use these measurements to create a picture of the land with different colors. The colors show different elevations. Blue might be used for areas that are very low and green might be used for areas that are higher. DTED maps can be used for lots of things, like making maps for airplanes or helping people study the land.
