Daily cover

Imagine you have a big box filled with toys, and you use some of them every day but you don't want any of them to get dirty or lost. So when you're done playing with them, you put a blanket over the top of the box. This is like a daily cover for the toys.

Now, imagine a big hole in the ground where people put their trash. It's really stinky and gross, and nobody wants to see it or smell it. Basically, a daily cover is like a big blanket or layer of dirt that gets put over something to protect it or keep it clean. In the case of a trash hole, it's used to make sure the bad smells and germs don't spread.
