Dakota Gasification Company

Okay kiddo, so there's this company called the Dakota Gasification Company (DGC) that takes coal, which is like a big rock, and turns it into gas that we can use to make electricity and other things.

They have this really big factory in North Dakota that does this, and it's the only one of its kind in the United States!

The gas they make is called synthetic natural gas, or SNG for short, and it's made by heating up the coal and turning it into a gas.

But, the really cool thing they do is they don't just throw away the stuff that's leftover after they make the gas. Instead, they turn it into something called urea, which is kind of like a fertilizer that helps plants grow.

Overall, the Dakota Gasification Company takes coal and turns it into gas and fertilizer, which is really neat and good for the environment too!
