ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Daktari

Daktari is a swahili word that means "doctor" in English. It is a word that is commonly used in East Africa to refer to someone who has studied and is qualified to take care of people's health.

Just like how you have a teacher in school who teaches you different subjects like math, science and language, a daktari is a person who helps you when you are sick or have any health problems.

A daktari can work in a hospital, clinic or other healthcare facility. They use tools like stethoscopes (which is like a doctor's headphone that allows them to hear your heart beat), blood pressure machines (a device that measures how hard your blood is pumping through your body), and syringes (small needles used to give medicine) to help you feel better.

Sometimes, a daktari may also give you medicine to help you feel better. They will tell you how much medicine to take and how often to take it so you can get better faster.

So, that's a daktari in a nutshell. They are kind people who help you when you are not feeling well and make sure you stay healthy.
