Okay kiddo, have you ever seen or heard of a shiny metal ball or a little box in a park or somewhere outside and wondered what it could be? Well, sometimes these things are not toys or decorations but they are called UXOs or unexploded ordnances.
UXOs are things like bombs, shells, or grenades that did not explode when they were supposed to do so. They were left in the ground, in the water, or anywhere else where they are not supposed to be, and they can be very dangerous to touch or to be near.
That's why we call them "Dangerous UXOs" or "Dangerous Unexploded Bombs". They are dangerous because, even if they didn't explode when they were made, they could still go off, and hurt or even kill people or animals that are nearby.
So if you ever see something that looks like it might be a UXO, don't touch it, don't pick it up, and don't try to move it. Instead, tell an adult, like your parents, a teacher, or a police officer, and they will make sure that the dangerous UXO is removed safely by people who are trained to do so. This way, you and others will stay safe and nobody will get hurt.
