Dangle (espionage)

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a friend who wants to find out secrets about another friend. They might try to do this secretly, like a spy. One way they could do this is by pretending to be friends with the other friend and gaining their trust. Then, when the other friend tells them something secret, they can use that information to their advantage. This is what dangle espionage is: using a fake friendship to get secret information from someone. It's not a nice thing to do, so we always want to be honest with our friends and avoid using sneaky tactics.
