Darning

So let's say you have a favorite shirt that you wear all the time, but one day you notice a small hole in it. Instead of throwing it away or buying a new one, you can fix it by darning it!

First, you want to find a needle and some thread that matches the color of your shirt. Then, you need to place the shirt on a flat surface so you can see the hole clearly.

Next, you start to weave the thread back and forth across the hole. You go over the hole, then under it, then over it again, making sure the thread is tight and secure. You keep doing this until the hole is covered completely with the new thread.

When you're finished, you tie a knot in the thread and cut off the excess. Voila! The hole is fixed, and your shirt is good as new.

Darning can also be done on socks or other clothes that have small holes. It's a great way to save money and make your clothes last longer. Plus, it's a fun and creative way to learn how to sew!
