Dashavatara is a word from Hindu mythology which refers to the ten incarnations of the god Vishnu. Vishnu is one of the most important gods in Hinduism, and his ten forms are thought to represent different aspects of the divine power he brings to the universe. These ten forms are each referred to as an avatar, and the group of them is called the dashavatara. The ten avatars of Vishnu are Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki. Each of these avatars is believed to have come in different times and in different forms in order to help humanity and protect the world from chaos.
