Dazzle camouflage
Dazzle camouflage is like wearing a really cool outfit to hide from bad guys.
Back when boats were used a lot to travel on water, people started using dazzle camouflage to hide those boats from the bad guys who wanted to attack them. The painting on the boats was not meant to blend in with the water or the sky, but to confuse the bad guys who were trying to aim their guns at the boats.
So, instead of painting the boats with regular colors, like blue or green, the boats were painted with bright colors and shapes. This made it really difficult for the bad guys to know which direction the boats were going, and where to shoot their guns.
Although dazzle camouflage is not used as much anymore, it's still really cool to look at!
