ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

De Chaunac

De Chaunac is a type of grape that grows on vines. It can be used to make different kinds of wine, like red, white, and rosé.

Now, grapes are like people - they come in different shapes, sizes, and colors. De Chaunac grapes are medium-sized and have a dark bluish-purple color when they are fully ripe.

When winemakers want to make wine with these grapes, they start by picking them from the vines. Then, they remove the stems and squish the grapes so that the juice comes out. This is called "pressing."

The juice is then put into vats or barrels and left to ferment. Fermentation is when tiny organisms called yeast eat the sugar in the grape juice and turn it into alcohol. This is what makes wine alcoholic.

Once the fermentation is over, the wine is aged for a while, which means it is stored in barrels or bottles for a certain amount of time. This can have a big impact on the flavor of the wine, making it taste different depending on how long it is aged.

So, that's a simplified explanation of de Chaunac grapes and how they are used to make wine. Pretty cool, huh?
