Debris disk

A debris disk is a large group of small, rocky and icy pieces of material, like dust and comets, that orbit around a star. These pieces of material can be left over from the formation of a star and its planets. The pieces of material are too far away to be seen as planets, but close enough to be seen as a disk. It can look like a giant hula hoop around the star when seen from far away.
