ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Debt management plan

Imagine you are playing with your favorite toy train set, and you have many different tracks to choose from. Now, imagine the different tracks are all the bills you need to pay each month, like your rent, utilities, and toys you bought.

Sometimes it can be hard to keep track of all the bills and make sure you have enough money to pay them all on time. This is where a debt management plan comes in.

A debt management plan is like having an adult helper come and organize your train tracks for you. They will take a look at all the bills you need to pay and help you figure out how much money you need to pay each one, and when it is due.

They may also help you figure out a budget that will show you how much money you have coming in and how much you are spending, so you can make sure you have enough money to pay all your bills.

Once they have organized all your bills into a plan, they will work with you to make sure you can stick to it. This means making sure you don't spend too much money on toys, sweets or other things that are not essential.

As you follow your debt management plan, you will slowly but surely pay off your bills and work towards being debt-free. So you can go back to playing with your toy train set without any worries!
