Decolonisation of Asia

Decolonisation means that a country that used to be ruled by another country is becoming independent and making its own decisions. Asia used to be ruled by European countries like Britain, France, and the Netherlands. But after World War II, these countries couldn't afford to keep control of their colonies anymore. So, they started giving up their power and letting the Asian countries govern themselves. This process is called decolonisation of Asia. Imagine you and your friends playing a game where you take turns being the leader. But eventually, everyone gets a chance to be the leader and make their own rules. That's what decolonisation is like for Asia. After a long time of being ruled by Europe, the Asian countries got to take the lead and make their own rules.
