ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Decreolization

Decreolization happens when people who speak two different languages (often called creole and standard language) start speaking the same language. This often happens when two different cultures mix together and their language also mix together. People will start using words and ideas from both languages when they communicate with each other, creating a new language which is called a creole. Eventually, over time, the creole language will start to become more like the standard language, and some of the words and ideas from the creole language will be lost. This process is called decreolization.
