Deep water culture

Deep water culture is a type of hydroponic growing technique that uses a water-based growing container. Instead of growing plants in soil, the roots of the plants grow directly in nutrient-filled water. The plants are held in place with Styrofoam disks, and the roots hang down into the water. The water is constantly aerated with an air pump to give the plants oxygen and to make sure their roots get an even supply of nutrient-rich water.
