Deities of Slavic religion

Slavic religion is a type of religion that was practiced in parts of Europe a long time ago before people started following other religions like Christianity. In this kind of religion, people believed in many different gods and goddesses, who were called deities.

These deities were thought to have special powers and they were believed to control different aspects of the natural world like the sun, moon, earth, and water. For example, Perun was the god of thunder and lightning, and he controlled the weather.

Another important deity in Slavic religion was Svarog, who was believed to be the god of the sky and the creator of the universe. People thought that he made everything in the world, including people and the animals.

Other deities included Veles, who was the god of the earth and animals, and Mokosh, who was the goddess of fertility and childbirth.

People who followed Slavic religion would pray or make offerings to these deities in the hopes that they would be blessed or helped in some way. For example, if people were having trouble with a certain aspect of their life, they might pray to the appropriate deity to help them solve the problem.

Today, Slavic religion is not practiced as much as it used to be, but people can still learn about it and appreciate the different deities that were believed to have existed.
