ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Democratic Marxism

Democratic Marxism is the idea that people can have equal say in how things are run, while at the same time making sure everyone gets what they need.

It's like when you and your friends are trying to decide what game to play, and you all get to vote on it. But instead of just one person winning, you all work together to play a game that everyone can enjoy.

Now imagine if that same idea applied to important things like how your town or country is run. Everyone gets a say in how things are done, but everyone also gets what they need - like food, housing, and healthcare.

That's what it means to be a democratic Marxist - you believe in democracy (everyone having a say) and socialism (making sure everyone has what they need).
