Most of the people in Africa are Black, meaning they have dark skin. African people come from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds, religions, cultures, and languages. People living in Africa vary in their income levels and educational levels. About half of African people live in rural areas, meaning they live in small villages or towns. The other half of African people live in cities. Africans are quite young, with a median age of just 19.2 years (compared to 37.1 years in North America).
