Demographics of Malta

The demographics of Malta refer to the people who live there, and they're very interesting little things to know about!

First of all, Malta is a tiny little island in the Mediterranean Sea, near the south of Italy. It's actually one of the smallest countries in the whole world! But despite its size, there are quite a lot of people living on it, about 514,000. That's about the same amount of people as there are in Wyoming, which is a state in America.

Now, the people of Malta come from all different backgrounds and cultures. But most of them are what we call "Maltese," which just means that they were born in Malta or their parents were. Maltese people have their own language, which is called Maltese, and it sounds a little bit like a mix between Arabic and Italian. Don't worry if you can't understand it, it's really hard!

Another interesting thing about the people in Malta is that there are lots of different religions. Some people are Catholic, which is a type of Christian religion, and that's actually the official religion of Malta. But there are also Muslims, Jews, and other religions too. That means that there are lots of different festivals and celebrations throughout the year!

Now, when it comes to age, there are lots of different ages of people in Malta too. There are babies, who are just born, all the way up to old people who might be over 100 years old! But most people in Malta are actually pretty young. That's because there are lots of schools and universities in Malta, so lots of young people come there to study.

So, there you have it - the demographics of Malta all explained like you're five years old!
