Demographics of the Supreme Court of the United States

The Supreme Court of the United States is like a very important group of judges who make really big decisions about important things. The people on the Supreme Court are called justices, and there are nine of them.

When people talk about the demographics of the Supreme Court, they mean things like the gender, race, and age of the justices. That's because it's important to make sure that the people who are making these big decisions come from different backgrounds and have different experiences, so they can understand different perspectives.

Right now, there are three women on the Supreme Court and six men. There are also two Black justices and one Hispanic justice. Most of the justices are older, with the youngest being in their 50s and the oldest at 82 years old.

So, even though everyone on the Supreme Court is really smart and knows a lot about the law, it's also important that they come from different backgrounds and experiences so that they can make the best decisions for everyone.
