Okay kiddo, so there are different kinds of people in Turkey, like how you have different friends at school. One of these groups is called the Kurds. They speak a different language and have a different culture than most people in Turkey.
However, for a long time, some people in power in Turkey haven't been very nice to the Kurds. It's like if one of your friends was being ignored or bullied by some other kids at school, it wouldn't feel very good, right?
Some of the things that have happened to the Kurds in Turkey are that their language has been banned in schools, they haven't been given equal opportunities to jobs or education, and sometimes they even get arrested for speaking out about being mistreated.
The Kurds have been trying to push for more rights and recognition in Turkey, like how you might try to speak up for your friend who's being treated unfairly. But unfortunately, the government and some people in power in Turkey are still denying the Kurds their rights and pretending like their issues aren't important.
It's kind of like if your teacher ignored you when you raised your hand in class, even though you had a really important question to ask. It's not fair and it doesn't feel good. That's why there are people fighting for the Kurds to be treated better in Turkey.
