ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Dennis Wrong

Dennis Wrong was a sociologist who famously said that "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." This means that when someone is in a position of power, like a king or a president, the power may cause them to act in bad ways or do bad things. Absolute power, or having complete control, can cause a person to become even more corrupt, doing even worse things. Dennis Wrong was trying to tell us to be careful when we give someone power and to make sure that they act fairly.
