ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Densities of the elements (data page)

Density is a measurement of how much "stuff" fits into a certain space. All elements (things on the periodic table like oxygen, nitrogen, etc) have their own density, which tells us how much of the element would fit in a certain area. For example, if we looked at the data page of densities, it might show that aluminum has a density of 2.7 g/cm3. This means that if we had 1 cm3 (a cube that is 1 centimeter on all sides) of aluminum, it would weigh 2.7 grams. Different elements have different densities - some are heavier, and some are lighter - so it's important to check the data page to make sure you know which one is the right one for the task you have in mind.
