Descent from antiquity

Have you ever heard of Ancient Greece or Rome? They were really cool civilizations that existed a really long time ago. And did you know that there are people today who can trace their family ancestry, or where they come from, all the way back to these ancient times? That's what we call descent from antiquity!

It's like a really long family tree, where each branch represents a different generation of people in your family. But instead of just going back a few generations, it goes back thousands of years! These people can look at old records and documents to see who their ancestors were and where they came from.

It's pretty amazing to think that someone can trace their family lineage all the way back to these ancient and important civilizations. And who knows, maybe one day you'll be able to trace your own family lineage back to those times too!
