Descriptive statistics

Descriptive statistics are like facts about data. They help us learn about the data in a meaningful way, such as how many of something there are or how much of something there is. For example, we might use descriptive statistics to find out how many people are in a group, or how tall they are on average. It's similar to counting apples in a basket or measuring the length of a stick.
