ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Dextrocardia

Have you ever seen your parents use a mirror to see the back of their head or check their teeth? Well, sometimes our body can also mirror itself in a way that is not so common but it doesn't affect how we live our everyday life.

When we think about the heart, we usually picture it on the left side of our chest. But some people have a condition called dextrocardia, which means their heart is mirrored and is located on the right side of their chest instead of the left side.

But don't worry, having your heart on the right side won't stop it from working or pumping blood to your body. Sometimes, people with dextrocardia may also have some other differences in their body, such as their organs being mirrored too. But the good thing is, they can still live a normal and healthy life.
