ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Die throw (review)

Okay kiddo, let's talk about rolling a dice!

A dice is a small cube with numbers on its sides, from 1 to 6. When you roll a dice, you hold it in your hand and let go, which makes the dice bounce off the table and land with one number facing up.

Let's say we're playing a game and we need to decide who goes first. We can roll the dice to see who gets the highest number. The person who gets the highest number gets to go first.

Sometimes, we might want to know the probability of rolling a certain number. Probability is like a guess of how likely something is to happen. For example, the probability of rolling a 1 on a dice is 1 in 6 because there are 6 sides and only 1 side has a 1 on it.

So, when we roll a dice, we never really know what number we'll get. It's always a surprise! But we can guess how likely we are to roll certain numbers based on the probability. And that's why we roll the dice in many games, to add some chance and excitement!
