Diego Garcia is a small island in the middle of the Indian Ocean that belongs to the United Kingdom. It is very far away from most other countries and it is a very important place for the US military. They have a big military base there where they can store weapons, planes, and boats. This is important because it helps keep the US safe by allowing them to quickly respond to threats in that part of the world. However, some people think that it is unfair for the UK and US to own this island because it used to belong to another country, and the people who lived there were forced to leave so the military could use it.
