Differentiable manifold

A differentiable manifold is like a surface made up of many connected pieces. The pieces fit together, but each piece can also be moved separately. Each part is curved and the pieces all connect together in a way that makes them all fit together perfectly. Differentiable means that when you look at the surface, you can move it in different directions, like stretching and squashing, without it looking weird.
