ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Differentiated instruction

Differentiated instruction means that teachers make sure that everyone in the class can learn in a way that makes sense for them. Just like how some people like pizza and some people like hot dogs, everyone likes to learn in different ways.

So, if you were in a classroom, your teacher might have you do different types of activities or learn in different ways depending on what you like. For example, you might like to draw pictures to explain what you know, while another kid might like to write a story.

The teacher will also make sure that everyone in the class is working on things that are just right for them. Some kids might learn really fast and need harder work, while others might need extra help.

By making sure that everyone can learn in a way that works for them, and at a pace that's just right, the teacher can help everyone do their best and have fun while they learn!
