Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is a way to measure the movement and shape of things. It is usually used to measure how something changes over time, like when something is bent or stretched.
DIC starts by taking two pictures of the same object. Then it compares these pictures to each other by looking at the pixels in each image. If one of them moves, the pixels will be different. By measuring those differences, DIC can tell how the object has moved or changed its shape.
