ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Digital mailroom

Okay kiddo, so you know how when we get letters in the mail, we go to the mailbox and get them out, right? Well, businesses get a lot more letters than we do, and they have a way to get all of those letters without having to physically go to the mailbox. That's what a digital mailroom is!

A digital mailroom is a special computer program that can look at all the emails, scanned documents, and other electronic messages that a business gets every day. It takes all those messages and sorts them into different categories or departments, just like how your mommy or daddy sorts the mail for different people in your family.

Once the digital mail is sorted, the program can send each message to the right person or department in the business. That way, everyone can see and reply to the messages they need to without missing anything.

So, a digital mailroom is like a magical system that helps businesses stay organized and makes sure everyone gets the messages they need. Pretty cool, huh?
