ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Digraphia

Okay kiddo, do you know how there are many different ways to write and read words in English? Like you can use a pen and paper or type on a computer? Well, that's called digraphia. It means using different writing systems or scripts to represent the same language. It's like if you can speak both English and Spanish, you can write and read in both languages, right?

For example, people in China speak Chinese but they write in a different way than we do. They have their own writing system called Chinese characters which are like little pictures. Also, some people use a different writing system, like how ancient Egyptians wrote using hieroglyphics with pictures instead of letters.

So basically, digraphia is just a fancy word for using different ways of writing and reading the same language. It's like having two different superhero costumes for the same superhero, both working to save the day!
