Direction determination

Direction determination is like a game of follow the leader. Imagine you are walking in the woods and you want to get to a certain place. You can follow someone who knows the way and they can tell you which paths to take and which way to go. That's what direction determination is like. You follow someone, or something, that knows where it's going and they tell you which way you should go in order to reach your destination.
