ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Directional stability

Directional stability means being able to control the direction that something is moving in. For example, when you ride your bike, you can steer it and turn it in different directions.

Directional stability depends on many things, but one important factor is the shape of the thing that is moving. For example, an airplane has wings that are shaped in a certain way to help it stay stable and fly in the right direction.

Another important factor is the weight of the thing that is moving. If something is too heavy on one side, it might tip over and lose its stability.

Overall, directional stability is important for many things, like transportation and sports. It helps things move in the way we want them to and keeps us safe while doing it.
