Okay, so, you know how sometimes people have a hard time using their arms, legs, or other parts of their body? Maybe they were born that way, or maybe they got hurt or sick. Well, in Australia, there are special sports that these people can play that are made just for them! These sports are called "disabled sports."
In disabled sports, the rules are a little bit different than in regular sports. For example, in wheelchair basketball, players have to dribble the ball with one hand every two pushes of the wheelchair, instead of bouncing the ball on the ground like regular basketball. This way, wheelchair players can still play the game even though they can't stand up and run around.
There are lots of different disabled sports to choose from, like wheelchair rugby, blind soccer, and para-swimming. Disabled athletes can compete against each other in these sports, and there are even big competitions like the Paralympic Games where countries from all over the world send their best disabled athletes to compete.
In Australia, we really support disabled sports and want everyone to have the chance to play and compete. That's why there are special teams and clubs just for disabled athletes, and lots of support and funding to help them train and get better. It's awesome that we have these sports so that everyone can enjoy playing and competing, no matter what their abilities are!
