The Discordian calendar is an alternative calendar created in the late 1960s by followers of the Discordian religion. It has 5 days in each of its 5 seasons, plus 4 special days called holidays. Each of the 5 normal days are named after one of the five basic elements of Discordianism—Confusion, Bureaucracy, Chaos, Nothing, and Something. The 4 holiday days are named after the same elements but in reverse order. The Discordian calendar also has 5 weeks in each season, with each week being 7 days long. The first day of each week is considered to be the day of the element that it is named after. For example, the first day of the week of Chaos would be Chaos Day. The other days of the week are named after the other elements in the same order as the days of the week. So the second day of the week of Chaos would be Bureaucracy Day and the third would be Confusion Day.
