Discrete element method

Discrete element method (DEM) is like a game of Lego. You have lots of pieces with different shapes and sizes and can put them together to make whatever you want. You can make buildings, cars, or even a space shuttle! With DEM, scientists can simulate things like traffic and the flow of materials as if they were pieces of Lego. In this way, scientists can understand how things interact with each other and find better solutions.
