ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Disposable towel

Okay kiddo, so a disposable towel is a special kind of towel that you can use only once and then you throw it away.

Do you remember when we talked about paper towels that we use in the kitchen? Think of those, but even smaller and made to use for things like drying your hands or wiping a spill off the table.

They are made out of super thin paper-like material that is designed to absorb moisture quickly. When you're done using it, you just toss it into the trash bin. It's really that simple!

People use disposable towels for a lot of reasons. Sometimes they're just more convenient than using a regular towel that needs to be washed and dried. And sometimes, like when we're traveling or camping, it's just not practical to bring a big, bulky towel with us.

But it's important to remember that disposable towels are not great for the environment. Since they get thrown away after just one use, they can pile up in landfills and take a long time to break down. So we should try to use them sparingly and recycle any that we can.

I hope this explanation helped, kiddo!
