Distributed ray tracing is a kind of computer drawing like you might see in a movie. It uses lots of very small lights that are sent out from a computer in different directions. These tiny light beams are called "rays" and they shoot out from the computer until they hit something like a wall or an object. When the ray hits something, it bounces off and sends a message back to the computer about what it saw. Using these messages, the computer can draw an image that looks like the real thing.
