Diversity-function debate

The diversity-function debate is a discussion about what makes a group successful. Some people say that if you have a group that has a lot of different kinds of people in it, this group will be more successful because they can come up with different ideas and perspectives. Other people say that a group will be more successful if everyone in the group is the same, because that way it's easier to work together and everyone knows the same things. People debate which is the better way to make a successful group.
