Dmanisi hominins

Dmanisi hominins are very old bones found in a country called Georgia. They are bones from our very distant relatives who lived a long, long time ago. Scientists think they lived about 1.8 million years ago!

The bones were found in a special place called a cave, where things can be protected and preserved for a very long time. These bones are special because they are some of the oldest examples we have of human-like creatures from so long ago.

The Dmanisi hominins were small and had different features than we do now. They had smaller brains and their face, teeth and skulls looked different to ours. They probably walked on two legs like we do, which is something that makes humans unique.

These bones helped scientists learn a lot about how humans evolved and changed over time. They are like a puzzle piece in the big story of how humans became the way we are today.
