ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Doctor of Sacred Theology

Okay kiddo, so you know how some people study really hard and become doctors, right? Well, there are some special doctors who study things about religion and God. They're called doctors of sacred theology.

Now, these doctors spend a lot of time reading really old books and trying to understand what they mean. They also talk to lots of people who know a lot about religion to get their ideas and opinions. And when they feel like they know enough, they write very long papers to explain what they've learned.

These papers can be so long that they're like books themselves! And when they finish writing them, the doctors of sacred theology have to explain what they wrote to other people who want to learn about God and religion too.

In the end, being a doctor of sacred theology means that you are very smart and work really hard to understand and explain things about God and religion. Neat, huh?
