ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Dogmatic fact

Okay kiddo, imagine you and your friend are playing a game and you both think different rules should apply. One of you thinks that the rule is to tag when you touch someone, while the other thinks it's to tag when you are near them. This means you both have different ideas or opinions about how to play the game.

A dogmatic fact is like a rule for a game, except that it is something that people think is true and cannot be changed. This means that they believe it to be a fact like the sky is blue, even if it might not actually be true or correct. It can be an idea, a belief, or something they have been taught to think is true, and people who believe in dogmatic facts might not even question their validity or accuracy.

Just like in the game example, people might have different dogmatic facts and believe that their own is the only true and right one. However, just like in the game, there might be other ways to play it that are just as valid, and there might be more accurate or complete facts out there. It's always important to question and learn, even if we think we already know everything there is to know.
