Dohány Street Synagogue

The Dohány Street Synagogue is a really old and important building where Jewish people go to pray and be together. It's located in a big city called Budapest, which is in a country called Hungary. The synagogue is really big and has beautiful decorations and colorful windows.

A long time ago, there were a lot of Jewish people who lived in Hungary and they needed a big place to go to pray and celebrate important holidays. So, they built the synagogue in 1859 and it became one of the biggest synagogues in the world!

During World War II, many Jewish people were persecuted and killed by a group of bad people called Nazis. The synagogue was damaged during this time but thankfully it was later repaired and is still standing today as a symbol of hope and strength.

Even though it's a really old building, people still go there to pray and learn about their religion. Visitors from all over the world also go to see the synagogue and learn about the history of Hungarian Jews. It's a really special place for Jewish people and for people who want to learn about history and different cultures.
